How to use this tool
Get a regular expression for a supported validation rule or an escaped literal match. This uses predefined rules rather than interpreting an arbitrary natural-language request.
- Enter a supported rule, such as email, UUID v4, ISO date, or 3 to 8 digits.
- Choose JavaScript, Python or PCRE syntax.
- Run the generator and test the pattern against valid and invalid examples in your application.
Example to try
description: 3 to 8 digits flavor: javascript For a literal match, try: contains "invoice"
Supported use and limits
Supported rules include email, GSTIN, URL, UUID v4, integer, digits, letters, alphanumeric, ISO date, Indian phone and hex color. Pattern matching alone cannot confirm that an email, phone number or registration actually exists.
Can I describe any pattern in plain English?
No. Only the listed rules and supported literal/range syntax are recognized. Unsupported descriptions produce an error rather than a guessed expression.
