How to use this tool
Make a compact JSON document easier to read and find invalid syntax. Choose indentation and optional alphabetical key sorting when inspecting an API response, configuration or sample dataset.

- Choose 0–8 indentation spaces and optionally enable key sorting.
- Run the formatter. Fix any validation error, then copy or download the result.

Supported use and limits
Input must be valid JSON. Comments, trailing commas and single-quoted strings are not JSON. Formatting is not schema validation, and values still need to be checked against your application's rules.
Will formatting repair broken JSON?
No. The formatter parses your input and reports invalid JSON instead of guessing a correction. Fix the syntax first. Use JSON Schema Generator if you also need a starting schema for valid sample data.
