How to use this tool
Switch between JSON and YAML for configuration files, API samples and structured data. The converter preserves compatible data values while changing the serialization format.
- Choose JSON to YAML or YAML to JSON.
- Paste the source document in the selected format.
- Run the conversion and copy or download the generated file.
Example to try
JSON input: {"service":"web","port":3000} YAML equivalent: service: web port: 3000
Supported use and limits
Only JSON-compatible YAML is supported. Cyclic aliases, non-string object keys and unsafe numbers are rejected. Comments and original formatting are not preserved.
Why can some YAML not be converted to JSON?
YAML supports structures that JSON cannot represent directly. This tool rejects unsupported data instead of silently changing its meaning. Simplify keys, aliases and numeric values before retrying.
